anyone actually use the ect button?

In playing with my truck i realized it had an ect button. I know it just holds revs longer and is a lil quicker to downshift.

Is there any other reason/ benefit of using it? also anyone played with it and have an idea of mpg diff?

I have to use mine quite frequently, as my tired 3.0 has at least a stuck valve or two, missing or worn valve guides, possibly some busted rings, and a host of other issues. Pushing the ect button allows me to maintain at least 50mph on a hill, or to be able to pass the "blue hair" in front of me that is only doing 53mph, and brakes everytime an oncoming car passes!

haha! Good call! my 3.0 is running pretty good (knock on wood) but it is nice to have a few extra rpm on hand for situations like that.
