84 22r wants to die when I slam on the brakes

I've been tweaking with my carburetor for a while now, and now when I get hard on the brakes the engine wants to die out. I've been 3 footing it, but that's just not too safe, now is it? Any ideas?

I don't think it's that, because it's more related to the front end diving down, not so much just the application of the brake pedal.

Something with the floatbowl in the carb? Just guessing without being able to actually look at it...
