are you planning on keeping the emissions stuff? it will be easier swap if you don't. also you might want to consider using an electrical fuel pump as well. the stock EFI pump is gonna be way too much for the carb. Not sure if you use a regulator to get it down to 6-7psi if using the aisin carb or 4psi if using a weber. there might be a bosch replacement for the OEM in tank pump that only provides the correct pressure for a carb, but will still likely need a regulator.
my head hurts I can't think of anything else off hand. but since your going to do an entire motor swap it's easier than converting the efi motor to carb. It's actually easier to convert a carb over to efi though.

since all my stuff is either non working or rotted away, i was just gonna put all the new parts on my truck, like the fuel system and fuel lines, and such, cant really think of anything right now, besides that and the brake lines. ill think of other stuff sooner or later.
but as for emission stuff, what do you mean by that?

EGR, BVSV's etc etc. It'll be easier if none of it's used for the sake of wiring and the wiring harness. unless you gonna have an entire donor truck.

lol, i was just gonna pull the entire engine and swap it in.
the truck km lookin at is an 84 22r 5 spd. so i was gonna pull the engine and trans, drop it in my truck, and switch over the gas tank , lines etc. and im lookin to get a new header with dual cats and a straight pipe. so if the engine passes emissions in the 84, it should pass emissions in my truck right? so thanks 4the input, its helpin out alot!!

A 22re to 22r has got to be the simplest swap ever. Just dig in and im sure that it will be fine. Only basic wiring, so you dont even have to worry about the hard part!

i just converted my cousins 22re to a carb and it was pretty easy it actually took longer to pull out the efi stuff than putting in the new intake and carb and other stuff

radiator/heater stuff is the same, throttle cable if most likely different and will have to swap that over as well. Won't need the carbed "ECU" if you are not keeping the emissions stuff.

it always seems easiest to swap IN a MUCH simpler engine. as old as the engines are, im sure you could find a kit available for the swap. iv got a buddy with a 22re that is working on pulling ALL the efi stuff and will carb his 22re. from what i understand, its something that he has done quite a few times as well as swapping OUT the 22re with a 22r.

alright thanks everyone, it sounds eisier then i though. i figured it wouldnt be too hard since both engines are pretty much the same excact thing.
what i should do is just stare at a 22r for a while, then i will be able to see whats different

Take lots of pictures of both engines just for reference. Im sure there will be vaccuum lines and crap like that to deal with and chasing down those problems will cause you to start drinking heavily. What I would focus on is maybe doing some insurance updates on your engine if its not a fresh rebuild (ie timing chain, checking valves, water pump, etc...) just because when you have all that other crap out of the way, it makes life a lot easier!

lol, my engine needs a total overhaul, egr tps maf afm, all new seals, gaskets, manifolds vacuum lines, injectors timing chain, pumps pulleys, you name it, it needs it. i was thinking of doing a total overhaul little by little once i get my 22r in. im gonna start looking at 22r pics now to see what i have to look forward too. im gonna try to find somone who did a 22re to 22r swap, so i can ask them about what kind of things they needed to change. ive done 350 swaps into a few 40's and 30's cars, but all i did was just fuel and t-cable adjustments, i didnt really worry about emmisions or electrical, so im thinking ghis swap is gonne be harder ya know.
