22re question.

i have a 22re in my 81, and im not sure on the year that is in it. im trying to get her running, and i want to make sure that when i test something it with the right specs. just curious if anyone knows if theres any or the differences from the older to the newer 22re's?

any info is much appreicated. thanks everyone.

thanks for the link 91toyota. so the blocks are the same. what about the fuel injection systems and all the electronics? and do all the 22re has a timing chain? someone told me that some have a belt?

that someone is misinformed. all R motors have a timing chain. so does the 1995.5 and up 4 cyl RZ that replaced the 22RE.

thanks matt16 thats what i thought too, just wanted to make sure. does anyone know about the engine electronics part of the efi being the same from 85 and on?
