2000 camry

I am trying to siphon gas out of my car. I tried using a hose to no avail. It seems like its not reaching any liquid. Is this possible to siphon gas out of where you put gas? I am doing this as my wife accidentally put 4 gallons into the car when we came back from vacation.

You can't leave the gas in there?

I am sorry I left a minor detail. She put 4 gallons of water in the tank. She thought the container is gas. Thanks

Yeah that could be a problem! I would drop the tank and empty it that way. Then maybe swish some gas around to get all of the water out.

Okay,
#1 there is a screen (as elton said) that blocks the hose from reaching the gas.

#2 you will not be able to get all the water out unless you drop the tank and dump it out.
think of it like putting an ounce of blue dye in 8oz of water.

#3 you had water in a RED GAS CAN!?!?

Thank you guys for all the suggestions. I know I know my wife is an **** She thought that gas was in the container. I asked her if she knows what gas smells like. Of course you all know the answer.

Does anyone know where the fuel pump is in this car? thanks again.
