Threads with non descriptive/misleading titles

Threads with non descriptive/misleading titles have been appearing more and more as of late, and we are hearing reports from the membership that they are tired of it.

The best course of preventive action on your part is to label your thread titles accordingly with what you are conveying in your thread.

Thread titles like:
Help
Help me please
Need help now
What do you think?
Can I do this?

Offer no description to get your thread seen and answered in a most timely manner.

The best course of action on staff's part is to simply delete the thread.
It is time consuming to contact a member to change the title in their thread, and we would also have to get involved to change the thread title in the master list which shows up when members are viewing the "view new posts" or titles in a particular forum section.

Of course thread topics in Off Topic are a little more relaxed, but if your thread is in the tech areas or classifieds, they need to follow the rules here.

***UPDATE***

This needs to be addressed again.
I have noticed a FLOOD of threads with extremely ambiguous titles.

While these threads have good tech info in them after awhile, they will be extremely hard to find via Search.

I'm going to start editing thread titles at will as I see them, but from here on out we could really use your help.
If it continues we'll end up having to issue Infractions/Warnings as needed and that's just more work for everybody.

If you know of a thread you posted that has an ambiguous/vague title and want it changed to something in particular feel free to PM with a link to the tread and your desired new title and I will change it as I get the time.

Thanks all,

YotaTech Staff
