New plugin: passiveVid

Tech installed a new plugin a bit ago.
In the past we had to use the [ YOUTUBE ] [ /YOUTUBE ] for YouTube vids with just short code, and we had to paste in the whole URL of Google videos between the tag [ GVIDEO ] [ /GVIDEO ]

Now you just have to paste in the whole URL without using the tags.
If you do, your video will show up twice.
If you go to a thread that has a YouTube video in it such as the Music Jam thread in the Off Topic section, you will see most vids posted twice.

So for future reference, you no longer have to use the VB code anymore to get the vids to show in your threads.

Also if you have a linked video in your sig line like I do that shows how to setup my tent, when you preview your post the video will show, but when make the post final, it will not show.

So far...
We know YouTube and Google work by just pasting the URL directly into your post.

A friend sent me a metacafe one here at work, but I am not going to view it, as I do not know what is on it
I did paste the URL in here to preview, and it does show, so we know metacafe works as well.
I have no idea what is on their site though as far as not safe for work/family images if you were to double click the vid to visit the actual site, but the vids will play here in the posts.

I will have to research more to see what all kind of vids will work here with just the URL being posted in.

It would be nice if the Vimeo ones did, as those vids done with the right camera look fantastic full screen.
Some of the mountain bike ones I have been viewing as of late hosted with Vimeo look great full screen.

I am sure the break.com ones will work as well here, but again, if you double click the vids to go to the site, that often results in questionable materiel on your screen if you are at work or around your family.

Update on Vimeo vids, they will not show here unless HTML is turned on.

No forum should have HTML turned on.
That opens you up to hackers doing all sorts of things.
Some forums allow it, and some have got hacked from having it on.
