wet #3 spark plug

Hi everyone. I am in the middle of replacing my timing chain assembly (chain wore thru VERY milky oil). I noticed that only ONE of my plugs was wet when I removed them. This leads me to suspect the head gasket as well. I know its the timing cover because I have it off and can see the hole. I am wondering if it is POSSIBLE that it is still only the chain cover and I don't have to replace the head gasket or even the head??? I am no mechanic and this is my first job of this scope.. too broke to take it somewhere.
This is my only transpo and I am a student. I would like to wrap this up ASAP.
It is a 1994 22re 2wd pickup.

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Was you truck overheating at all? I would say button it back up with the new TC cover and see if holds/burns coolant. I doubt that you had both a HG and a TC cover go bad at the same time. Been wrong before, but would be odd if both went at the same time.

Cool. I was hoping so.

It did get pretty hot twice. Once ALMOST in the red. Checked my coolant and assumed it was just low , added more and it drove fine for 2 days. Then a surging started accompanied with LOTS of eye burning exhaust. My heat gauge shot up to about 3/4 the way. When I popped the hood I saw coolant leaking out the exhaust manifold and pipe joint burning and smoking everywhere. Checked the oil, a good amount of chocolate milk.

The local Toyota mechanic thought it was only the TC cover as well. They said to button it back up and push air through the spark plug hole then check the radiator for air bubbles. That should tell me definitely I suppose. I just got the TC cover welded up and I cleaned up all my parts. So this afternoon/tonight should be assembly time.

Thanks a ton.
