Hello , I have a Toyota 1993 pickup 4x4 V6 3.0 Engine and would like to know if there is a way to install a turbo to my truck. I been reading a lot about it and basically everyone sais its possible but will be a ticking time bomb. I would like to know if it is possible to install one and have the truck still running smoothly as well as the turbo. And if you know of someone who has successfully got it done , please let me know.. Thanks.

I think there are a couple threads about it over in the drama llama lounge.But to answer your question, yes, there is a way to install a turbo on your truck. There are probably no bolt in kits around anywhere, so it will all have to be fabbed. It would be an interesting, but not rewarding fab. With the same amount of time and money used to fab the turbo setup, you could install a 7mge or 3.4L v6 (or better yet, a supercharged 3.4L) and have a stronger and more powerful setup.
But that's my own opinion.

there are a couple turbo builds on here. piggy back and a rear mount would be good for a few pounds. to do it right use camry 3vzfe internals, they are forged, with thicker head gaskets to lower comp ratio or machine pistons if possible, or clearance head to lower ratio. with full stand alone. then you would be out about 10k but have a screamer 3.0 v6. most jdm swaps are cheaper than an engine rebuild and are fun to drive. emmision testing is where it might bite you in the butt.

I agree like the rest. Start with a better foundation. Besides the bad exhaust crossover, I feel the 3vz simply has too short of a stroke which leads to all of the other issues that the 3.slow has.

A regular 3.4L can be found in 95-04 Tacomas and 96-02 4Runners. As for the supercharged 3.4L, I can't remember what years they came in. I want to say 98-04 Tacomas and 98-02 4runners?

Super jelly right no! How was the fit cause I’d assume the 2j is longer being a straight right! Man I’ve wanted to do this since the first time I saw a 2JZ engine trans for sale with harness! I wish I could go for a ride! Guess I’m gonna have to do it now! Nice man looks good! Just 2wd? Think a Nissan Skyline would fit and maybe possible to use the AWD? Seriously awesome! Upload a video of it sometime or maybe you have, I’m horrible on these forms with the dates! Anyways keep it up man!
