transmission too full

All right, so I do need help. Here's a picture of the driver's side of my transmission:

I believe this is a W56. 1989 2.4l 5 4x4 5 speed. The manual does not match up with this picture.

I used a 14 mm socket to remove what I thought was the fill plug, but fluid poured out! (red circle)

Then I used a 24mm socket to remove the bolt higher up and it was a 2-3" long tapered bolt with a rounded tip on it. In the manual this looks like what is called a restrict pin. (Yellow circle)

On the very bottom center is what I assume is the drain plug, also 24mm socket. I didn't remove this one. (white circle).

On the passenger side there really isn't anything that looks like a drain/fill.

So my questions, where do I fill and where do I drain?

So, I'm thinking I pulled the correct plug the first time and that there was too much fluid in there. There's no way the higher, long bolt with rounded tip is the fill plug, I only hope I didn't mess anything up pulling that out.

I've also searched and there seems to be a lot of confusion on this subject, so I'm still confused. Some say that the right bolt is the same head size as the drain which in my case is not true. Also, the one that is supposedly correct seems awful low on the transmission to hold 4.1 quarts.

I know the drain is the one going straight down. But I looked at my W56B and it doesn't look like yours, so I can't help about the level/fill plug. Mine is a 17mm head and similar in position to the one you indicated as a 14mm. But yours appears very close to the bellhousing, whereas mine is about 4 inches towards rear from the bellhousing.

Got it all figured out. The fluids didn't look too bad, but they have fresh red line MT-90 in them filled to spec quantities.

Also drained and filled both diffs with new gear oil. Every last bit of fluid in this is new.
