You don't need a solid axle to start offroading. Wheel what you have before you make an investment like that. See if you are any good at it, have the temperament for it and are going to stick with it, THEN look into mods. An IFS rig will take you far, at least until your capabilities catch up with it's capabilities.

what he said trust me get the experience with IFS to see if you like and if you do keep the ifs for awhile as you gain a lot of experience then think about an SAS if you want to do that hardcore of trails. My old IFS with a locker in the rear took me wherever i wanted to go within exception of the harder trails.
