Rear third, replace seals?

Hello,

I am going to be putting in a locker in a few weeks, me and my friend will be pulling the third and taking it to be professional set up. I was wondering do we need to replace the axle seals after we pull out the axles a bit? If so which seals would we need to replace the inner or the outer?

Thanks,
Chris

Inner seals are what you should be concerned with the most. They are cheap and easy to replace once the axles are out, so I would replace them (If you decide not to replace them, don't let the axles rest on the seals that are currently installed when you pull the axles out a bit. This will deform the seal. Pull the axles out completely until the third is re-installed).

Take a look at the outer seals to ensure they look good (what you can see of them, anyways.) You would have to press off the bearings to replace the outers, and the critical ones are the inners to keep the diff fluid from leaking out.
