Rear Locking Diff.
I may have a line on a 4runner rear axle with the e-locker, but I'm curious if the width, gearing, or 3rd member size plays a role in it being a doable swap. If I went this route, it'd probably be going on an early (80-84) toyota pickup with leaves etc. Also, is there a writeup anywhere on it?

With that in mind, 914x4runner, anything is possible with a welder and grinder. It all depends on how much work you want to do. Keep in mind that a 4runner has links and coils so you'd have to weld on you own spring perches. The axle is also slightly wider than an early 80's truck. You're gearing will have to match the front axle.
