Also, i am interested in discussing with you the how and where to find and install lockers on said 4rnr.

any other suggestions that you would have for me about modifications and parts that would help me would be great.

have a good one .
Really? I've seen a very good selection of tires in the 17 inch size. What size do you have in mind? Do you have Discount/America's Tire in your area? Do you know how to convert metric tire sizes to inches. Let us know. Good luck.

x2.

There are less and less tire sizes being offered in the 15" size.

Most big tires are being offered in 17 and up.

Plenty of 33" tire sizes to go for as well.

A quick visit to BFG's site looking for tires for 17" rims shows 15 tire sizes in the AT line up, and 10 in the new KM2 line up. Quite a few in the 32-35 range.

For lockers, you need to find a Toyota 8" V6 locker for the rear, and a 7.5" for the front.

Not a lot of options for the front, but plenty for the rear. What sort of wheeling/highway use do you normally do?

Almost every tire comes in a TON of 17" sizes these days since those are stock on most full size trucks.

quick question. I have 10.5 inch wide rims, and am wondering what width of tire will actually fit on my rims. I thought it would be the same as the rims, abut have recently heard otherwise.

Best to check with the tire mfg. for recommended rim vs. tire width information. For example, BFG lists that information on their web site:

thanks. I have checked out your website too, and you have lots of great information. How long does it normally take for your customers to receive shipments of things ordered from your site?

Depends on what is ordered, if the parts are in stock, they ship the same day and typically take 2-3 days for delivery in the US. If the parts need to be made, fab. time depends on the order complexity and backlog.

I just got tires first 'cause I needed them bad. Now, I am going back to your#1 on the list: drivetrain. I will be going with air lockers in the rear first.

My question for everyone here is do you know of any good vendors (other than 4Wheel Parts) in the San Jose, CA area to buy stuff and get service work done...that is trustworthy and knowledgeable?

Anyone heard of Toy Connection in Santa Clara? I see them posting a lot in craigslist. http://toyconnection4x4.com/

I buy parts (name brand - ARB, etc) from 4WP, but would NEVER have them do work. I know each one is different, but just heard tooooo many horror stories.

Not exactly right in the neighborhood but Marlin, Trail Gear, and Randys Ring and Pinion are all in the Fresno area. Inchworm is on the outskirts of Sacramento but unfortunately for you the far outskirts rather than the near outskirts. In any event, all of these vendors do lots of diffs and for that important of a job it might be worth the trip. Also, if you can stand the downtime, ZUK from this site has done them via shipping. Worth checking out. Good luck.
