Manual Transmission bolt HOLE stripped

Hi all, I was looking for the best possible solution for this problem that came up.
It's an 87 4runner SR5, 22RE, 5sp manual transmission.

The check and fill bolt housing on the transmission is stripped out and I can't seem to locate a oversized m18 bolt anywhere. I am not even sure if this is the best possible fix for this problem. I am concerned with metal shavings in the transmission if my mechanic has to tap it. I looked online and found those dorman universal drain plugs which are commonly for oil pans. Not sure if they are safe to use or not. Thanks for looking and any help you can give me.

Dealer for the bolt, its $5.

Get some vice grips and a pipe wrench. Put the vice grips on and tighten them more with the pipe wrench.

the bolt that I have is fine actually. It's the female side (transmission) thats stripped out. Currently the old bolt it in there with a big gob of silicone to hopefully keep it from coming out.
