Looking for info on 1983 Celica EFI
Looking for info on the early celica 22re. Just purchased a project 83 celica that needs some attention to the wiring harness (apparently I cannot make a new thread until I have 15 posts??). I've read that the early model celica's do not have a knock sensor, but looks like mine does have one next to the fuel filter? Appears to have the connector broken off as I also Have a black and white wire with no connector on it so I believe that is where it goes. Can anyone confirm this?
Left of oil filter appears to be a broken knock sensor, underneath is the motor mount
Possible knock sensor connector on my spare harness?
Blue/red blue/white connector goes where? Spare harness
Vehicle came with sensor in thermostat housing, spare housing doesn't have one
I also have a blue/white wire and blue/red wire with the connector missing off that and have no idea where those go (I have a spare 83 harness and it has those wires in kind of a long white connector, but see no place for it to plug in). My thermostat housing has a melted sensor in the top of it, but my spare housing has no spot for a sensor. Did these come with that sensor or is this thermostat housing off a later model??
Lastly, the oil pressure sender was taken out. Normally they mount under the oil filter in the pickups but I noticed the celica's engine mount is further back and blocking that location. Have not found an empty spot for it to go, tho there is another spot that is plugged further up. Are those the only two spots for an oil pressure sender or am I overlooking a third location??
thanks in advance

That would be awesome if you could since I'm reading conflicting reports on the early RE's having a knock sensor . Quick search online and I can't find one for 83 but it's there. Same with that white plug, I guy might have pulled whatever it plugs into out

What you think might be a knock sensor is the port where the oil pressure gauge sending unit most often goes .
What is in there might just be doing duty as a plug
I had 4 83 Celica`s before I got back into the 4x4`s
I did not have time to chase your wiring issues
Maybe over the weekend
Feel Free to Pm if you have more Celica questions
