k&n issues-please help!!

I've got a 91 yota pick-up 3.0 liter V6. I just bought a k&n cold air intake and installed it but my truck wont run. I quadrouple check that EVERYTHING was hooked back up. "If" it starts it idles at about very harshly at 500 and soon dies.... Whats my problem? any info would be great!! Thank you.
