i have an important question

i do alot of muddin around here in these parts....mostly slick red clay.....none of that mud bogging...(going through 2 or 3 ft of mud)....i just like to spin my tires and get my truck allllll kinds of nasty....my question is....on my 1980 yota 4x4 20R....completely stock....except for my 31x10.50x15 TSL's (which are great)...i want to know...usually what is the first thing to go...(or break)...on those old trucks...everything seems to work fine...other than the old tired 20R...but it still runs strong...the 4spd tranny..seems to be just fine...except i need a new clutch...other than that..those are the only problems...my dad doesnt like me goin muddin...cuz he thinks i will tear somethin up....but all im doing basically is spinning my tires....lol..thanks in advance

i cant see anything wrong with spinning your tires. maybe you could get some mud up somewhere to block a sensor or something...

Not really, First gens are pretty basic and since your only running 31s id say nothing should really let go, if anything were to go id say its just from wear and tear since its an old truck.. the only things that come to mind are the U-Joints.. rear drums could fill up with mud, water/mud could get into the intake.. but those have nothing to do with the age of the truck.. that can happen in any truck. The biggest thing id say with a first gen is if you let it sit with wet mud on it, it will probably rust out pretty quick... make sure you give it a good wash every week or so.

my $0.02:

IF you hit bottom and grab traction you may bust a u-joint or the ears around one.... next in line would be an inner axle shaft in the front IIRC
