How do I reset the CHECK ENGINE light on a 97 4Runner w/ 3.4L?

Short story: I got back from the beach, let everything cool, was hosing it out and doing some cleaning under the hood. I think something got too wet. It was mis-firing for about 30 minutes of driving with a check engine light. Runs fine now, but the light is still on. I want to reset it and see if it returns before I take it in for diag.

Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure you pull the ECU fuse. Don't quote me on that though.

Disconnect the battery, wait about 2 mins, and reconnect.

Thanks for the help, disconnecting the battery for a few minutes did the trick!

Your misfire was likely caused by water getting down into one of your sparkplug holes. Did it to me one time when I washed the engine, with the same symptoms you described.
