Looks like you have a pretty nice truck so this may not be of intrest to you. But I saw a guy on here that did a ratle can flat black paint job, and it looked pretty sweet. He tried some clear over it with rattle cans too, but it didnt look as nice. I guess clear is better to go on the conventional way. I rattle canned my wheels with flat black and high gloss clear and they turned out pretty nice.
When I paint my truck I'll probably get a spray gun for my air compressor though. I'll keep and eye on your thread, maybe I can learn something too.

your best bet is probably going to be to get it professionally painted
but, if you do do it yourself, make sure that you use plenty of tape and plastic so that you dont get paint where you dont want also, dont forget to take off your decals before you paint you should be able to put them back on with some type of adhesiveness

I caught my truck on fire the other day and the heat caused the hood paint to bubble! looks like i might need a really big sticker or a paint. hmmm

A good compressor at least 10cfm @ 90psi minimum!
3/8 50ft air hose An orbital sander (air) 100, 220, 320 sandpaper. sanding block masking tape and paper primer whatever paint brand and finish you like respirator laquer thinner lint free rags paint gun (gravity feed Sata, Devilbiss some brand along those lines) garage to sand and paint in beer paitence time
