Leave the top of the strut connected and after you have the 2 bolts off of the strut/ball joint use a prybar to lower the control arm out of the way of the bottom of the strut. On some years you had to remove the caliper to get access to one of the strut bolts. Its not that hard. You are just fighting the control arm bushing and strut rod bushing.

Yup, luckily I had just happened to over look the directions in my Haynes manual since the section is so small and was able to finally get the bent one off and the new one on. Will definitely remember how to do this for future reference. Thanks man.
