can this?

can a catalyst converter get plugged and cause the engine to slow down

ooooooooooooo yes. my buddys heep had a clogged cat, took that sucker off made a HUGH difference. run a straight pipe, if ur local emssions laws allow......

just grab a sawzall cut it out and add a piece of exhaust pipe in between either weld it or u clap it welding is the best option but if you don't have access to welder go to the auto parts store and buy a couple of the clamps and bolt them up.

i don't know of a thread but if you have a welder or know someone who does its real easy.

remove the cat, usually unbolts, use flanges on cat or remake flange copies and weld those onto a piece of straight pipe. and rebolt u will have to get new gaskets to go between the flanges.
