AC belt/idler pulley 22r

Hi. I am trying to replace an AC belt on a 91, 22r and have a couple of questions. If it is, will that allow the tension to be adjusted. Is the pivot bolt in the center of the idler pulley? And what position should the idler bolt be? Should it be snug to the bracket? Sorry it has been a while since I have had to work on this truck. I have a Haynes manual but it isn't much help. Thank you.

You need to loosen the nut in center of the pulley. Then you con loosen the adjuster bolt to remove tension on the belt.

Thank you sir. Should the bolt that runs through the pulley (about 2" long) be tightened up to the bracket. The belt has been off for some time. Thank you.

You tighten the bolt after you adjust the tension on the belt ,it locks the pulley in place.

Thanks for your help. I worked on a similar setup 8 years ago & just couldn't remember. It's tough getting old.
