Welcome to Yotatech.

You need to do a LOT of reading and research because your questions clearly demonstrate you have no clue what you are asking.

A solid axle swap typically involves lifting the vehicle in order to do the swap. Most kits are 3-5".

Typically the 79-85 solid front axle is used.

Tutorials? Search the Toyota online forums and It has been done just a few times before.

Check out our website for ideas on SAS kits, rear lifts and look at the "tech info" page for SAS installation instructions.

Go read this - all of it!

Yes welcome. We moved your post due to the nature of your post. When you do a little more research and search YotaTech or Google, and have more specific questions, then you can post under your model/year...

all you need is a 4inch sas kit from marlin crawler and an 83 to 85 toyota front axle gears and rebuild the front axle

yeah.. i was looking into a s.a.s too but its still a little beyond me yet... first im going locked rear then well see how far i can go with that and a winch... you need a solid axle from a 83-85 toyota truck. get a kit from a company like wab fab or trailgear or marlin and you can choose the 4 inch kits .. its around 1200... if you have a first gen runner you have leafs in the rear and can get some new leafs and coils to get the lift you need. if its a newer runner you need a kit like the s.a.s

gotta run

search is your friend and so am I

welcome to yt

Not quite...and front drive shaft work and then the front SAS is done.

What about the rear? Lockers? Gears? Armor? The list goes on and on and on.

welcome to an addicting hobby...I feel an SAS conversion is a good route to go, but there are some folks,TC, for instance that can wheel some very difficult places with IFS because he knows how to drive.

This all Toyota Search Engine might give you another source. It hits over 50 Toyota Technical sources...

like Wabbit said, keep reading and searching. You will find that you will be abe to answer many questions you have. Of course some new ones are gonna come up

I could add add a set of longtravel je reel driveshafts but you can do an sas without a front friveshaft but you won't be able to use the 4wd

Hi, Iam new here too, but I will throw in an answer. 84 and 85 front axles are best, they were beefed more from the factory, but would add the weld on armor and ball braces and longfields. Also recommend going to 63" 3/4 ton Chevy springs in the rear, with the bottom 2 leaves taken out. did it to a buddys 85 and it flexes incredibly.

Well thanks for all the input guys. Im not sure if im built up to the SAS yet i want to do it but need to read further it looks like. Besides ive only had the truck not even a year yet lol. So far it wheels very nicely the way it is but maybe i should do gears and lock the rear first?

that would be the best place to start, there are very few places you can get with a sas that you cant with ifs
