33x12.50 or 35x12.50 with 4'' lift?? (pics)
***I have searched and searched throughout yotatech and Google to resolve my issue but I was not able to find what I was looking for...
I am installing a Rough Country 4" suspension lift very soon on my 1994 Pickup but can't decide what size tires to run. The lift recommends a 33x12.50 but what will look the best? I am planning on running the Cooper ST Maxx in either a 33x12.50 or 35x12.50.
I am installing 15x8 wheels with a 3.75 backspace. Please help me out!
By the way...this truck does not get "wheeled" much at all...its in really good condition and I don't want to mess it up.
***I tried to load pics of how my truck sits now but the images failed to load even after several attempts...

Go with the 35s. 33s will look too small with the 4' lift. You can fit 33s stock.
Just to let you know, you will have to regear your axles when you install the larger tires.
4.56s or 4.88s if you go 33s
4.88s or 5.29s if you go 35s.
It all depends on your engine, trans (man/auto), and personal preference.

you will have too much gap between wheel and fender with 4" and 33s. either drop the lift or commit to 35s, but you will spend a lot more money to do 35s, because once they're on, you'll be craving gears every. single. minute.
if you're concerned with a proportionate look, and haven't bought the kit yet, consider only 2.5" lift with 33s. much more balanced, much less money.

oh if you've already ordered it, 4" and 35s is a good combo IMHO. they shouldn't rub on a 94 p/u but will fill the wells. But even afterward, if you want the truck to have a bit more of that "floating on top" look, you can easily add a 1" body lift that is practically invisible but adds just a tiny bit of extra clearance, and gives you a chance to refresh the mounting bushings.
just plan for the appropriate drivetrain changes that 35s deserve. it gets pricey just to do the gears and that's only for going down the road, not wheeling it and changing axle shafts, doing diff drops, etc.
if you'd like to "try them on for size", one thing you can do is check c-list for used 35s mounted on some wheels. buy them, drive 'em a week and confirm you're happy. when you're sure you're happy, go buy the new skins you want and sell the used ones on c-list again.

Just be sure to buy quality parts when they come due for replacement as they will be subject to higher stress than stock with larger, heavier wheels than stock. A differential drop is also not necessary for pavement pounding and mild off roading.
Hope this helps future searchers.
