2nd gen runner fan explosion
Newbie here, who refused to pay attention to his aging fan blade. What I got was a fan that exploded taking out the radiator, many coolant hoses, air box, and power steering line. Therefore, I decided it was time to not only repair, but since the front of the motor would be out, I will go ahead and do timing belt, timing components, and water pump. This has yielded a few questions.
1. Is it possible to know which years of the 3vze had oil coolers? I want to make sure I order the proper aisin pump but don't know if mine has the outlet tube or not.
2. The water Inlet on the front of the motor, that is part of the timing belt tensioning system. The part that connects to the upper rad hose is broken, but has two hose inlets on it. Some years have one hose inlet and some have two, is this a model year change as well? I seem to be trouble finding the two hose inlet piece (toyota online parts stores don't differentiate between the two pieces, both pictures are listed differently but both part #s are the same.)
3. Radiator. As far as cost effectiveness goes, is it at all affordable to rebuild the factory brass radiator? I have it narrowed down to repairing the original radiator or purchasing the silla all aluminum aftermarket radiator. Does anyone have input on which would be better?

Your VIN is the best way to get the correct part from online Toyota parts dealers. I don't know the 3.0 so cant help with the one or two hose connections. As far as radiators, I take mine to my local shop and he will let me know if it is worth fixing or better off replacing. I do have mine professionally flushed as the Prestone kit wont get it clean. It takes high pressure to get the gunk out.
