2nd gen 3.4 swap
Hello to all. I have been researching this site (along with others) for months now but this is my 1st post. Forgive me if there is a post on this site somewhere that has the answer to my questions and I might have missed it. If there is can someone please point me in the right direction. If not then this is my question. I have a 1992 4Runner. I bought it from a guy with a rod through the oil pan. He was the 2nd owner and he had it for 7 years. It is in beautiful shape and I got an incredible deal on it. I was just going to put another 3.0 in it but after some research, I decided it would be better to upgrade. A friend wanted me to put a Chevy 350 in it. After researching that idea I decided not to. I don't want to put that much of a lift on it to clear everything and I don't have the funds. I have been researching the 3.4 swap. Instead of a body lift, I am going to cut the hood and put a minor scoop on it. I am putting a 3" suspension lift on it with 33" BFG AT's at the most. I don't really like body lifts and I have a quad I need to tow so I don't want to go to extreme on the lift (plus I need the truck to fit in my garage). The question I have is if this motor will bolt up to an auto tranny. I know it will bolt up to a 5spd but the guy I bought it from had the tranny rebuilt 13k miles ago and I have all the paperwork for that. This is my 4th Toyota truck but my 1st auto tranny. I really don't want to convert it to a manual. I know there is exhaust work that needs to be done which is no problem. I am going to run factory manifolds and I know I need to get a crossover pipe. So other than the engine, wire harness, ecu, crossover pipe, exhaust work, and hood fabrication, is there anything else I need to know? I am sorry for the length but I want to make sure I covered evrything. Thank you in advance for your help.

You can fit 33x10.50 with no lift on the factory rims.

Thank you for the link. That answers pretty much every question I had.
I am going to run 33/12.50 tires. I already bought 15x8 wheels with a 4.5" backspacing so I will need to lift it a little to clear the width. Thanks for the info.
