I know where the two lines run to... my problem is i for some reason or another have an open spot for another vacuum line where the knob/cover looking thing on the end is . I need to know if it has some sort of adjustment purpose, or if it is just a cap, or do i really need to hook up a third vacuum line even though everything i have seen only shows 2 lines running to the VSV.

ok I think I figured it out yours is brown mine is blue( my brown only has two lines comming out it and they both go to the black mini piping) and that's what has been throwing me off but if it's the blue one in these pic's I have not hooked that one up yet and still have to find the line so sorry but my guess is it is going to go back to the black mini piping again but really not sure yet but if you don't get it figured out by tomorrow evening get back to me and I will start trying to find where my go's and then you should have the answer

As a matter of fact after looking at the pics take a look at the second one if you look close you will see a black mini pipe sticking up with nothing hooked up to it I would bet thats where it gos as a matter of reasoning all the other ones run to the mini piping and are accounted for but this one so take a look at yours and see if that pipe is open and see if you have a piece of mini rubber line that looks like it would bend around and fit there without kinking.

It would appear that you have three vacuum valves on the valve cover of your motor(a grey, a red, and a blue). My engine only has 2. Is that for an automatic possibly with A/C? I will post a pic of the Vacuum line diagram I have been going off of...

let me know if that shows up okay for ya.

OK mine is a 93 5 speed but if you look at your diagram it appers that your line is going to the same place as the one I added here for you to look at

Your 88 with 2 vsv's

My 93 with 3 vsv's

Check the weird blue line on your diagram it go's to the side of the intake or maybe it's the manifold either way that seems to be the single line

the yellow line go's right above it

the red go's to the AS Reed valve

the orange go to the rear of the block

hope that does it for ya.

The blue and the yellow both go to the same point. It is a threaded 3-way(one bib is capped) splitter that goes into the side of the intake.

A friend also mentioned the possibility that the missing line might be a line that runs to my distributor. So i will have to check it out tomorrow and see if that might be what I am missing.

Sparx483, you may have already figured this out, but that VSV is missing a filter. That's what looks like a knob. It's just a little air filter to keep dust out.
