Pink Navi Display

Hi guys

I am now the proud owner of a 2003 4runner limited 4wd! FULLY LOADED!

It came with the navi and a toyota installed dvd player in the back.

the weird thing is, is that the navi screen is pinkish instead of the regular color. but its only in the navi screen, when i go to the audio screen etc, its regular color.

my dvd player has infrared headphones and also has an option for the FM transmitter. i have a switch on my dash that enables the FM trasmitter. i was playing with that switch and all of a sudden my navi screen went to the normal color! i switched it again, and now its pink. i cant get it back to being normal. the pink color isnt that bad but it would be nice to have it regular.

any ideas on to why it is doing that?

here's a few pics of my new ride!

looks like a contrast issue, im not sure about it but there might be a button or series of buttons u can push to get to a set up screen. hopefully some one else will post up. also have u checked your owners manual to see if it give u any thing about the navi.

yeh i checked all the options for color and contrast and there are options for different colors but it didnt remedy the pink navi screen. ill keep troubleshooting.

yo charles, yeh i went with the 4th gen. couldnt pass up a great deal on a v8 4thgen fully loaded. its so nice! SUCH A BIG JUMP from a 91 yota pickup! very happy with it. ill be keeping my 91 yota so ill be wheeling with that. ill keep my 4th gen stock for a bit until i get bored with it, which wont take long. LOL yeh, those running boards gotta go... it came with nitto all terrains but not sure what size. i havent checked yet. ill be saving some money and will do a lift and tires first. here we go again!

It's definitely a color issue. Seems that one of the colors is missing from the equation. If it's an RBG (red/blue/green) system, it appears that green is missing.

you have warrenty, haven't you? I think you can ask for repair. OR if lucky, you can get brand new 06 Nav for your SUV.

you can check the colors by going to the diagnosis screen.

Press display button

The display section pops up (bar at bottom and top of screen)

Press on the INSIDE of top bar (below top bar) and above bottom bar on the left side of the screen, keep on going top bottom, top bottom, until the service menu appears. There should be a navigation or screen chech feature in there, I can take pics of my nav menus if you would like, they might be a bit different since I have the 07 headunit

Congrats on the new 4runner!!!

mkool,
well, the powertrain warranty is to 60k and the basic warranty is to 36k miles. i have 59500k on it right now. i wish i could get the 07 navi, that'd b sick!

dibble9012,
i tried fiddeling with all the options in the navi setup. i have a section where i can select color: normal, auto, 1-6. i really think its a missing color problem like cebby said. coz it "popped" back to the normal color for a second once. im thinking maybe when they added the FM transducer button located on the passenger side of the navi on the grey trip under the air vent, they hit a wire or something. i have the same problem with my computer sometimes if the monitor cable isn't attached tightly, i lose some colors. im thinking the NAVI picture feed is not apart of the actual head unit but sent directly from the NAVI/GPS unit and there's a loose wire.

i guess ill try to figure out how to get behind my dash or behind my GPS/DVD unit in the rear.
