Newbie question about options and trim levels.

Hi, I'm new to the 4Runner market and had a few questions.

Basically I'm interested in purchasing a 2004 4Runner but I can't seem to find the exact one I want online anywhere (ok, fine, I've only spent about 20 mins on ebay and Carmax) so I decided to turn to the forums and ask the pros.

What I want: A 2004-05, Gray, 4WD V8 Limited with a hood scoop. What I think is the problem is the the Sport is the only package that comes with a hood scoop. Is this correct? And what does the Limited have that the Sport does not? I saw that you can get the Sport with Leather but I could not discern what else the differences were. Audio would not be a big selling point to me because I can do that myself. Any suggestions about the vehicle that would be right for me would be welcome. On that point, my use would not be for wrenching and off roading (I've got other toys!), it would be more for a daily driver and occasional off road (trails, nothing extreme).

Thanks for anything, I always respect the knowledge that a forum can offer!

Welcome, the hood scoop only comes with the sport although swapping hoods could also get you a scoop. The limiteds are full time 4wd i believe where the sport is part time. Not sure if you can get leather in the sport maybe someone else will chime in.
The sport comes with the xreas(sp) suspension and either V6 or V8. The limited is strictly V8 I believe. Good luck in your search.

Ps found this, it will clarify everything.http://www.top4runners.com/ja/runhist42003.html

All V8's are full time 4WD. The V6 is part-time and I believe a 4speed for '04. Correct, hood scope comes only on the Sport model. Sport has XREAS, which the Limited has as an option. Sport also has bigger brakes standard. Depending on the region of the country that you live, leather was a port installed option on Sport models. Limited has leather standard.

There are many other standard features on the Limited and some options that are ONLY available on the Limited, such as Nav w/backup camera and rear auto leveling air bag suspension. Some of the standard features are heated leather, dual zone climate control, self dimming rearview mirror, different dash gauges, wireless rear audio, homelink, 120v outlet, auto on/off headlights, etc.
