Let's help out a fellow Yotatecher! 4th genners in particular!

First - let me just say that I was never put up to this. The only reason why I'm suggesting this is because many people are reaping or going to reap the benefits of this particular guy's hardwork.

I only have to ask, "who owns the most hardcore 4th gen you've seen yet" for you to know who I'm talking about.

Good Times (Lance), is doing a lot of groundwork and communication with a heck of a lot of aftermarket suppliers for the 4th gen (and looks like what will be the new Tacomas). You only need to look at his rig once to know that this has set him back quite a bit.

Most of us have the good fortune to have trucks with engines that have gotten A LOT of attention and have a plethora of aftermarket modifications available. Those of you with the 4th gens are only now starting to see some hardcore mods available.

What I am proposing here is simple. If you are interested in donating any amount of money to Lance's ever evolving project - even if it's just a buck, let me know. If there's sufficient interest I'll set up my Paypal account to take these payments and I'll forward them to Lance in a lump sum.
I will acknowledge your contribution (not the $ amount but the fact that you contributed) and provide Lance with a more detailed list that includes amounts.

If you feel that this is spam then please leave your comments to yourself and do not post. This is strictly to help out a fellow Yotatecher who is metaphorically the trail boss for the 4th gen mods. If interested, then by all means let me know who you are.

If you've spent any time talking to Lance you probably know that he is not the type to ask for a handout. I just feel bad that this guy is spending so much time assisting with research and development for parts that will in the future be available for "a low introductory price" or part of group buys.

Let me know if you're interested!

Would Lance even want people people donating?

If I get a 05 Tacoma and the parts fit, then I will donate some cash.

I talked to him last week and to make a long story short I don't think he'll mind

Oh and I should probably mention, I will be contributing. I figure I've drooled over some of those pictures enough

this is a very kind, generous idea .... but, there are other people who are doing things like this (perhaps behind the scenes) for the 4th gens. too. doing this for Lance is cool, but some of us may not be able to donate much because we're involved in similar pursuits for 4th gen. mod availability.

that being said, Lance is eventually going to get some money from me anyway when i buy his skid plate from him.

That's true, you make a good point...
I just think this guy deserves a little appreciation for paving the way for the rest of us. That and I really don't know of anyone else who has put forth quite as much effort and has been as generous with his experiences.

Well, any contributions are still welcome!

That's the great thing about Yotatech, there are lots of guys sharing so much information on their trucks and mods.
WATRD's sas project comes to mind...or Darren's mods & trips...all kinds of good stuff here...that guy that bobbed the Taco...even the simple maintence writeups are valuable.
Lance, Rocky (with her detailed lift writeup), Lefty..Bulldog showing us 4th gens deserve props onthe trails...all the 4t gen pioneers are great.
I can't seperate Lance from all the other great contributions here tho- they all are awesome- even though I take personal interest in Lance's projects because of our rides.

Maybe we can pitch into a YT Award for the next YT gathering for "Innovative Spirit award" or something... anyway, back to your thread..

Yotatech rocks!

Thank you very much for the warm fuzzies Peter. But I really can't accept any $$ from anyone here as we're all here doing the same thing (one way or another). There are alot of members just getting by and still modding so I see no difference in my shoes and theirs.

I feel that donations are better spent on our fellow members away in Iraq (hint hint Jason and I believe a few others still out there as well). I'd feel more comfortable receiving the donations to send care packages out to our fellow brothers and sisters as they'll be the happiest to see stuff from us Ofcourse I'd be honored as well but I really can't be accepting stuff from a fellow member. (I'd just feel way to guilty)

Btw, here's the thread for Jason:
http://www.yotatech.com/showthread.php?t=36517&page=3
I'm still taking donations. Just got 2 more recently so I'll be sending another package out soon.

Btw, if you know of other members here on this forum that is overseas and would like me to start a care package for them as well, just give me the 411 and I'll start a care package for them as well. The recipient(s) will receive a list of all members that contributed for the care package so keep the donations coming

Now if vendors and other larger entities (who can write these items off) want to lend a hand, that's a different story. But, really I sincerely do appreciate you starting a thread do help me out but I'm sure I can manage to build this with my own strengh. (ofcourse if all else fails, I can always part your 4runner hehe. since you know who still doesn't know about it. doh!)

Btw, I would say I'm paving the way as I know there are other members doing the same thing. I'm just another member here that's just trying to get stuff on the shelves for alot of people to get stuff right away instead of waiting 12-18 months. Not everyone needs a specific part that will be available but having that option just makes life soo much better (esp w/ Yotatech).

On a side note: For all ya 4th genners and 05 taco's update on parts!! (since I know all of ya will be lurking)

TRD SC: TRD Supercharger for the V8. Rumors that the v6 will have one soon too!

Downey Offroad: Front coilovers, rear coil and shock
Inland Trucks: Upper A-Arm Uni-Ball design
King Shocks: apprently has coilovers for us for $850 now shipping (sounds weary though as he states he's done abunch - I'm thinking he's confused w/ the old 4runner)

Sway A Way: No word on status (sorry)

Wheels:
16x8 with 4.5" Backspacing and 0 offset (ideal)
