Intake/Exhaust on a 03 4.0 runner

I am looking at doing a few small things to my wifes runner. I already put a 1" lift up front to level it (funny for 20 years runner had SAS, now they are the opposite). I am swaping all the fluids this summer to synthetic, as well as adding a bypass filter.

What have people thought about the K&N FIPK? Is it work it? This rig doesnt see the trail much, I have my 92 for that. But I want something that will help the mpg a little. I already get 21-25 on the fwy, but every mpg counts.

As far as exhaust goes I am a big fan of aftermarket pipes, but stock looks pretty good, and they have a lifetime warrenty from toyota. I am certainly no going as far as a headers, but cat (cats since there are 4) back?? Was is a big improvment, or just a wicked sound?

Anyother input on improving efficancy and performance is appreciated. I know the two usually dont go hand in hand, but many performance upgrades offer increased economy when your foot isnt in it.

K&N FIPK... not worth it in my eyes. Lots of discussion on it clogging the sensors with oil and junk. Check out True Flow... it's amazing!

exhaust...
Borla Exhaust ( Personal favorite )
Gibson Exhaust
TRD Exhaust

Headers....
none yet to my knowledge

Good luck!

The magnaflow system for the 4th gens is awesome. I personally don't like the dual exhausts (split sides) look, but prefer it exiting right behind the passenger rear tire.

i've got no problems with my K&N you've just got to be careful i guess when you're oiling it. just shoot the whole hting let it sit 15 min then hit any white spots lightly
