Finally lifted my 04 4Runner Limited, yeah!

In an effort not to duplicate lots of info here is my commentary on my lift at T4R.org. All in all it is great, I love the lifted truck. The tires sure need to be upgraded now though. I will have to get that done in the next month or so.

In the spirit of full disclosure I did go with the Nitrous Enterprises kit. My girlfriend got it for me before all the dust kicked up about them. I decdied to give them a chance since Anthony said I could have my moeny back if I was not happy in any way. He even came to my house to help me install it. I found him to be a nice guy and a man of his word.

I must also say taht a Pitman arm pulled is REALLY uselfull for this install!

Anyone know what wheels size I need if I want to get new ones? 17x9 with 4.5 back spacing right? I will probably go with 265/70's but might try to fit 285's if they will fit the stock wheels and not run the control arms. I MAY go for aftermarket wheels if I find some extra cash laying around.

Thanks Vato! Yeah, they do look small, but not bad. I am getting use to it now and it does not look as akwar to my eye as it did right after the lift was complete. I would love to Vato but my woman and our 10 year old dog use them to get in. When I go wheeling I will yank them so I do not mangle them.

Here is mine with 285s. Only rubs on the front left mudflap occasionally. Glad to see NE worked for you.

duc hunter,

on the tech/4runner side of things, i'm glad that you are satisfied with the NE lift. i'm happy to hear that the install went w/out major problems. good advice re pitman arm for those community members looking to do the same. as others have said, time to get new tires

that said and i'm sure you knew that this was coming, but excuse my skepticism but this is a far cry from his previous attempts at threatening lawsuits against former customers for asking for refunds. and to backtrack a little bit, but didn't the "NE train" move on??!?! from your time with him, is he still in business?

moreover, while its admirable that he personally came over to install your kit, i hardly think that this personal attention is going to be standard operating procedure for NE LLC. and quite frankly, i think this had everything to do with the fact that you are local to anthony/billy and that you were one of the most vociferous supporters (for lack of a better word) of anthony/billy of his company and his grade 2 bolts. please dont take that as a personal attack on you (re your support of him), but rather, an observation and my "analysis" of why he came to install your lift.

and since you've met him in person, can you put the conjecture and rumors to rest? here's some questions I'd like to see answered:

- did he introduce himself as billy? or anthony?
- why did he provide you grade 5 bolts when grade 2 bolts were sufficient as you stated in a previous post here?
- did you see a scar on his head from his brain surgery?

...and yes, I have serious doubts that he's a man of his word, especially in light of the fact that, among other things, he would feign a brain tumor as an answer to customer's delayed orders.

Man of his word my a$$......Did he tell you he was a man of his word? Well I guess that makes him honest then! I'm sorry, but honesty is part of your character and the term is not just handed out to someone who has lied as much as AK. I have never had anyone lie to me and put me through as much BS as he did!
By the way, he told me he was being "110% honest". I still have not figured out what he was being honest about.

Your 4Runner looks much better. Get some more aggressive shoes on there and it will be ready to go!

Mickdady-Mike, that mud picture almost looks like the original 2003 4R ad!

For reference, Daystar and Revtek (both available at wheelersoffroad.com) are solid choices for 4th gens. Anyone stumbling across this thread can search for those two and wheelers for service reviews.

edit- oh yes, and sschaefer is selling the daystar too.

You mean you did not cut the little bumps off that are under the ft bumper in front of each tire?

Well I took my tools with me after the lift and figured I would fix any rubbing as it appeared. The only rubbing I heard was the front left and cutting the mudflap nub as you mentioned fixed it. Haven't heard a noise since then and hit has definately been used (see picture).

Note the spinning tires - VSC/TRAC disabled (pressure switch disconnected)

You won't get that w/ any other spacer lift that I've seen. If Cornfed made spacers for the 4th gen I'd definitely support them as they got some good stuff!
