I've had mine come off, but not while going down the road.
I was backing up while off roading in Kentucky. I backed over the edge of a rock shelf, and the left front flap was caught between the tire and the edge of the shelf and was ripped off. Never heard of one just coming off riding down the road. It must have already been damaged somehow.

I've had this problem too. I was checking the driver side tire the other day and noticed that the mudflap on that side was almost completely cracked through.
According to this the number of comments on this other forum, its pretty common: http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...flap-problems/ Since my '05 is out of warranty, I picked op a set of Power Flow aftermarket mud flaps from PepBoys for around $30. They don't mount the same as the OEMs, so you have to drill a few new holes in the inside of the fender. All in all it was pretty easy though. If you are still under warranty get your dealer to replace them. Then keep an eye on them often. Once they go they can chew up your paint.

The first time i got stuck in the snow with my taco both of the fronts riped off but not before packing the front tire with snow and not helping any. My driver side rear is the only one left and i keep be because its kind of funny watching people see that im missing a rear flap and check the front to see i dont have eather up there and then get really confused. |
