'05 Tacoma V6 4x4 MPG?

I'm considering a new/ almost new Tacoma 4x4 doublecab, my only engine choice would be the 4.0 V6, & I want the manual (I'm not sure if its 5/6 speed) Anyway, can you folks post what kind of MPG I can expect? Thanks!

How many trucks are you going to own ?

Also ... what gas mileage did you find out from edmonds.com or nada.com or wikipedia.com ????

Just one bro! The '90 2wd I have my dad uses for commuting to work, & if/ when I bought another one, I'd sell my 4x4 beforehand (the one you saw when we met) & no I didn't- I don't really trust those #'s. I'd rather get #'s from real people whose #'s are based on real life experiences. Plus, don't edmunds & NADA just use the manufacturer's advertised #'s?

Meh, just stick with your truck and pimp it out.

Newer the vehicle just makes the repairs more expensive to fix.

go for it i've heard that 4.0 is reliable as hell..... my dad had one for a few years and put 50k miles on it and no probs or shop work at all. just oil. Plus they do look pretty good. Oh and they are 5-speed mans if you can find one.

well duh they don't make them brand new anymore.

go find one with extremely low miles and pay out the wazzooo for it.

You need to do a bit more searching and stop making threads with random questions (no offense).

It is entertaining while I'm here at work, but you have 3 threads I believe everytime I click 'new posts'.

If you get the manual, it's a six speed and it's a weak sister of a gear box. I know 3 people with the 6 spd and 2 have had repeat bearing problems and the other is getting noisy.
I have an '05 with the 5 spd auto (zero problems) and with my ARB bumper and skid plates and roof rack............I get about an average of 16-17mpg.

Mine is bone stock and a double cab with the 5 speed auto. Around town, you can expect to pull about 17 or so. On the highway (and if you're not pushing 85mph), you can probably get 22mpg. Mixed, I typically see 20.

How in the world do you do that? Mine is an 07, otherwise the same. The best I've ever got was 18. And that was fueling up and getting on the interstate, set the cruise, and drive till empty. No city at all. I usually get 16 when it's mixed driving. And my truck has 92k miles, I drive a lot.
