'05 tacoma keyless entry vip rs series alarm upgrade questions...

i want to add the rs 3200 plus system to have an alarm. i found the system at toyotapartspeople.com for $253- and the local dealer will do the labor install for $127-. all this seems fair, but the info available doesn't tell me if it has a shock sensor to activate the alarm.... if someone hopped up on the truck bed to break into my tool box, or a tow truck tried to tow it, would the alarm sound??? does anyone have experience with this upgrade? i'd like to know more.... thanks....

for the same money, you could get a much better alarm system. lots of people including myself have purchased the commando 870. search it on the forum. others have purchased vipers, cliffords, etc.

to answer your question, the shock/glass breakage sensor on stock toyota alarms dont work worth a damn. and i've read the same thing too over the years from other members.

The VIP RS3200 Plus includes a new Proximity Sensor on the FJ Cruiser. Maybe it's an upgrade on other models too?
