Wrong Ignitor/Coil for my 3vze?

I bought this 1989 4runner around January -- lots of mickey mouse'd stuff so i ended up going through the entire motor replacing the Knock sensor(had a code), intake gaskets, TB, valve cover gaskets, o2 sensor, cat, tune-up, etc. So far it's running pretty decent just no passing torque when I press on the go fast pedal on the freeway and fluctuating MPG. Getting 11-15 city & highway even when keep her around 60mph most of the time not that I really have a choice take about a mile to get her up there.

So, now I've reached another part in question, the coil & ignitor; it looks like the previous owner cut the wires and used butt connectors to put on this coil/ignitor so I know it's been changed but is it the right one? A local mechanic recommended me to switch out with another but I want to get other opinions first.

I did a search on the part number(#89620-32110) on top of the ignitor and it always comes back with parts for the 2.5 camry or lexus, and whenever I search for 3vze pictures of the coil/ignitor setup they never look anything like mine:

Any ideas or am I just pissing in the wind on this one? Thanks

the coil looks to be an aftermarket piece from autozone etc. the ignitor definitely is not 3vze. i would go to the junkyard and find one for a 3vze. it will be WAY cheaper then the $$400 plus the stealership will charge.

The auto tranny is your biggest killer of mpg's. I would look into ISR mod, bump the timing to 15*, egr delete, manual hubs, meth injection etc... those will all help your gas mileage. good luck and keep us posted

also... what gears and tires you running?? that will definitely affect your gas mileage

my 95 3.0 came with igniter part no. 89621-12050.
I also have the coil with part no. 90919-02197. There's also other numbers on this...19070-35290 and 029700-7051. Made in Japan by Denso.

Let me know if you need this. Make me an offer. I'm not too far from you. Torrance, CA.

This forum is awesome! Thanks for the replies guys, I guess it's pretty conclusive that the igniter i have in isn't right one, so I called a local pick-n-pull and they want 15 bucks for the igniter but they only have 2 runners and both engine bay's were stripped clean

Anthony1, check your PM.
