Wow, my 3.0 has personality now !

I had gotten a Raptor turbo muffler that I was originally going to have put on my Volvo 240, but I ended up getting a 2.25" system on it so the Raptor went on the 4runner instead. Man, the truck has alot more oomph to it now, it gets up to speed and climbs hill with alot more gusto than it ever did before in the 4 years that we've had it. My wife was the first to notice since she drives it the most (the Volvo is my DD) but I drove it into town yesterday (we live in the mountains) and she wasn't kidding. Now I know I'm not gonna be smoking people at stop lights or anything, but dare I say the truck actually feels decently strong and is fun to drive. I'm wondering if an air intake will take it up another notch ? Should I try an FIPK or something ? What are you guys using ? It has to be legal though, cuz I live in Cali. Thanks !

cold air intake wont do much, maybe try a header if you don't already have one and possibly a hi-flow cat, just simple things

I'm afraid I don't have the $ for the headers, I figured the intake would be the next cheapest bang for the buck since I'm already pretty happy with how it's waking up with the new muffler. But you tried it and it didn't do much for you ? Was it the Fipk or a different one ?

I had a nice 89 4runner a while back that I did an FIPK, NWOR header, NWOR free flow cat and Jardine exhaust on. It woke up the 22re a bit more than I thought it would (all the parts needed replaced but the intake so I figured upgrade rather than replace.) I put these parts on in stages and it woke up just a little bit with every upgrade. It was worth it.
