Windsheild Wipers keep falling off...

I was driving this morning in a slight drizzle and decided that it was enought to turn the windsheild wipers on and after the first wipe, the drivers side wiper just fell off!

Each time i put a new one on, i do exactly what the instructions say and the last couple of times i've had other people help out...

Has anyone else had a problem like this?
oh and i've tried several different kinds of wipers too.

I had the same thing happen on my '89. DON'T TRUST THE CLIPS. Get the kind with little set screws.

Weird. I've driven through some billowing blizzards and torrential downpours, not to mention cookin down the highway at 90 mph, and I've never had a problem with the clip ones...

With the clips, i just squeezed the metal (on the wiper arm) that goes around the blade clips so it was a tighter fit on them. Also, sometimes the arms twist a bit and the edge of the wiper hit the windsheild. Actually put a scratch in the glass due to the trip was a long one that it happened on. But anyways, i just rotate the wiper arm hooks back to its normal position.

I second the bolted wipers, I got a set for my truck, sure the old bolts where a pita to get out, they even broke off and it took 2 busted nuckles and a pair of vise grips but I never have to worry about them falling off

When I was moving home from college, I lost the driver's side one outside Gray, MO, stopped at the service station and all they had were the refills - not the whole assembly, so had to rush over to Napa, got the guy to open back up and sell me a wiper. My sister was with me and was dying laughing.

A couple weeks later, I was going skiing and lost the other one, pulled over to the side of the road to try and figure out how to keep it from scratching the glass and there was a piece of foam, maybe 1" diameter by 12" long. I jammed it on the arm and drove up there. When I pulled up and my sister saw the piece of foam, she totally lost it.

ok so i got a friend to look at them for me. He pulled the wiper assmbly off and told me i was missing the part that screws on to the end of the wiper arm.
All i can figure is some extemely desperate person stole it lol or when i first got the truck i took it to firestone and got a tune up and replaced the windsheild wipers and the person that did it didn't knew what they were doing and took those peices off.

Anyho i need new ones but i don't know what they're called and where to find them besides the stealership...
Can anyone help me out?

My truck was missing the screws when I got it, I had no idea, they stayed on ok though, but once I put on new ones, they wouldn't stay on at all, one flew off and my wife with cat-like reflexes and amazing speed was able to snatch it out of mid-air while driving! (we got caught on the highway in the rain with no doors)

Do you by any chance know what those things are called?
