probably wouldn't overheat unless it was a super hot day and you're sitting at a light after being on the freeway or a scenario like that. i'd get a used shroud asap just for safe measure and it'll definitely run cooler. the shroud really makes a difference in how the fan pulls air through the radiator - the air has to pass through the shroud to get to the fan blades vs air being able to pull into the fan from the blades' outer edge.
another alternative would be to switch over to an electric fan which should have a shroud built into its housing. then you can switch that sucker off when you're going through the swamps out there.

Good input pottery head..I got a shroud from ebay and it was 4 a 22re,sent it back.No 6cyl available. My donor truck was missing it also.If I cant find an original Ill have to try the electric fan idea.We tow our popup to the keys every july...dont want problems this summer!

Damn... I actually could have gotten you one a couple days ago. I'll keep an eye out for you in the trade-in-going-to-auction lot for ya. Wish you would have said something...
You should be fine for another month or two... but once it starts gettin to be summer (in may) I'd really recommend gettin one on there.
All Auto salvage in titusville (off of SR.50 just west of I-95) has a couple old 3.0 4runners. You might try giving them a call... I got a head from them for my truck.
Or call north brevard up in mims. I know they have a couple Auto's... though the shroud should be same from auto or manual tranny.

By the way, those tires look like ass
Would have looked good if you would have brought them to me... Today would have actually been perfect too. REAL slow day. Oh well, less heavy s hit for me to do I did pick up a couple swampers today for myself though... just to throw on one of my extrra wheels as a spare. 1 heavy thing is way better than 4 heavy things!
