Yes.
I know the corner light is different.
But I had heard that the body "hard points" were basically the same.
The idea is, if I really want a Fiberwerx Ivan Dan Sharp fender.and hood, that they will "fit" on a 84-88 body, IF I switch to the 89-95 type corner lights.
Along with all the fitting that has to get done with glass panels in general.

sounds to me like you need to go to a junk yard with a tape measure and start writing down numbers. If the hood hinges are 1/2" different spacing it wont work without some major re-fitting and die grinding and welding on of new tabs.
If all you want is fiberglass stuff, go to www.toyotafiberglass.com and check out his products. Lots of parts for 84-88.

I'm also interested in this, just to know.
But They make fenders for Both model trucks. They should know if they're interchangeable. In fact, this page on their site for early fenders says they don't align with factory hood and to use theirs. Did you see this? Are you sourcing these directly, new?

I have basically my own personal junk yard lol, went out and snapped a few photos for 86, 93, and 96 (Tacoma). All appear the further towards the windshield and front corner bolt are the same distance. Tacoma appears to curve down quicker than the older trucks though and there are less bolts in the fender. Measurement is done by hooking the tape on the furthest up bolt and measuring to the front tip bolt. Nothing else was checked, maybe some day I'll try to fit a fender on another truck for the fun of it.

On a side note - I already have the 84-88 type high round fiberglass fenders (Hanneman)
The idea is to get the later style front end (i.e. BOTH fenders and hood) and mount them on my truck and swap to the later style corner lights

i think with enough work anything can be made to fit. To me the challenge would be how the body lines would be different where the fender meets the door and the sill plate at the windshield.
finding an entire front clip and mounting everything forward of the windshield might work.. gonna be interesting if you make it work
