I been looking at getting a hitch because I have a small trailer to pull when I get my Runner stateside. On Hidden Hitch's site it says with or without 31.10.5 tires. My Runner came with 225's but has 31's now. My guess is the reason they differentiate is because of the size of the spare under there???? If that's the case I have a 31" spare also so I would need the hitch WITH 31' tires right? Or is it because the frame mounting points are different???

On Drawtite's website it just says 92-95 All models. I think I'll go with the drawtite and save myself a headache. Anyone have any ideas as to the Hidden Hitch?

I have a Hidden Hitch. I'll shoot some pics after the batteries are charged for my digital. The spare size shouldn't have a bearing on the hitch. The mount doesn't go back that far where it would interfere with the spare. My 32" spare clears with ease.

I have the hidden hitch with a 31in spare. Here's a couple pictures (down at the bottom and on the second page) http://community.webshots.com/album/23688726lCUYNBElJz. The nice thing about the hidden hitch is that my rear sliders will fit and they're for sale! (hint hint)

My guess is that the hidden hitch that's made for the smaller tire is really hidden, that is, the main bar is tucked up between the tire and the bumper. You can't do that with a 31in.

Cebby thanks. I am still not sure what the difference in the hitch is between w 31X105's and without. Thinking I may just go with the drawtite... (same price almost) How hard are them to wire up? I have a plug in my cubby in the back where I think it must have been towed like behind a U-haul or something. I wonder if it's compatiable. Robinhood I plan on getting a custom rear bumper one of these days unless I find my 85 to build anytime soon...

Easy as pie to wire I have a plug wired into mine that mounts to the angled tab by the receiver. I don't like having a pigtail dangling back there like alot of folks do (not that there's anything wrong with that... )

I have a draw tight hitch installed and it is 9 years old. The hitches are in fact configured for the 31 inch tires as the stock tires were smaller. The hitch takes into account the larger room needed t store the tire (tyre ).
I would perfer to have a Toyota stock hitch - they have end plates that keep out moisture. Both draw tight and the other brand use open tubes. If yopu can find them use a stock hitch.

15 Sept..........thanks for the inputs guys. I bet a stock Toyota hitch would cost ludicrious cash just like all OEM Yota parts. Looks like a person could weld a plate over the open ends possibly. Dunno. Heck for $136 guy could just go and buy another if rust becomes and issue.

Every stock Toyota hitch I've seen has been severely rusted (OK, not the brand new ones). The Hidden hitch has some sort of plastic coating on it so it doesn't rust.

Hey guys, sooo I kind of have the same question but want a little "reasurance". I'm looking at getting a hitch for light towing/recovery point. Is there a big difference in hithes? Like are These worth ordering or should I just go to U-haul...? I have some P265/70R16 Dayton A/T (stock I assume) so clearance isn't an issue. Is there any difference? Strenth? Appearance? All these pics have expired so if anyone has any pics handy they'd be greatly apreaciated! Thanks guys!

(Also I should mention I don't have a 2nd gen 4runner. As the sig says, it would be for a 03 double cab 2wd Taco.)

This exhaust tip was on the truck when I purchased it. Will it need to go bye bye before I get a hitch? I get a lot of "rice" jokes made about it anyway... What do you all think?
