Where are the fuses for the back window

Just got my 88 4 Runner back from the 3rd owner. I was the second and now fourth owner. Long story. 255,000 miles..does not leak or use oil..3.0 and has lots of power. Anyway it came back with the inside switches for the back window not working. Where are the fuses or could it be something else? How often does the timing belt need changed? Where can I get a tonneau cover for the area behing the back seat..when the top is off. By the way I love the forum. She came back to me with the brake and alt lights on..after reading some threads I checked the alt. brushes-which were fine- then cleaned up the ground wire off the battery and everything was good to go. Thanks all...all thoughts are appreciated.

There is relay box behind the panel in the passenger cab behind the driver's seat that may be faulty. First, you might check the switch in the console. Does it work with the key in the tailgate? There are threads that go into how to start tracking down the issue in your electrical system. I found them when my rear window stopped working. After trying to replace the relay switches on the little circuit board behind the seat, I wound up just bypassing it with a new switch.

The timing belt? Don't know...I'd call the dealer for general recommendation. But, you can also do a search on that. I've just not had to replace one yet.

The tonneau cover? Sorry, can't help you with that. I know there are even threads on that I've found, but I don't remember keywords for finding them.

Check under the kick panel near the left foot. There are 2 breakers with yellow covers with a hole throught the yellow cover. I had a problem that the breaker tripped. I pulled it out and used a paper clip to reset the breaker. You might try that.

The timing belt I believe is every 90,000 mile. But don't quote me on this.

Is this the top you are looking for?? http://www.specialtytopco.com/images/4runlg.jpg

First thing to check is the top bolts. The bolt behind the driver side rear wheel has a kill switch under it that kills the operation of the rear window.

I looked in the back compartment and found the wire connection to the wiper was unhooked. Put them together and everything works. Thanks for the help. I really think this kind of website is the wave of the future. Everybody working towards a common goal. Not just cars but lots of issues could be resolved. Thanks
