Has anyone found a switch that will fit right into the blank spots in the dash that have knock outs. A switch similar to the clutch start cancel would be ideal but a toggle would work also. I am putting in a light bar and didn't want to drill a hole in one of the knock outs, but rather have switch that fits like the factory switches, if that makes sense.
The switches from a center console will fit. I moved my rear window switch to the dash, tapped power from the rear window breaker to a pair of 12 v relays. What are you switching?
I found a switch at Autozone that was a direct fit. Unfortunately it was a push-push design with some fancy electronic logic that was incomprehensible and unreliable, so it wasn't very functional for my purposes. Looked pretty, though.
VERY generically that form factor is called a Contura switch (I believe the name Contura is owned by Carling, so you could probably find a knock-off if you're price sensitive.)
You can try https://www.otrattw.net/ ; they have all sorts of labels for anything you could want. Or just google "Contura."
there are lots of universal "push button" style switches available if looking for something that's not the "contura" style. most seem styled more like the switches in the newer toyotas where there's no trim behind it, the button fills the entire hold vs the clutch start cancel- style with a trim around the edge. best bet might be to find one you like in a google image search.
I've modified the console switches. Used a rear window switch for a starter switch once. You could use, for instance, the rear wiper switch for your application. Find the wires that show continuity with the switch in the on position. Tap one wire into a 12 v source. Since you're in the dash the cig lighter will do. The other wire goes to a 12 v relay to trip the lights. Tap into the alternator output, fuse it and into the relay, out to the light bar.

There are lots of Toyota switches that will fill that blank. I'm thinking a push-on push-off switch would serve you best. Like a hazard or defrost switch from any 80's-90's Toyota car or truck. Use your ohm meter to find the wires governed by the switch, then follow the wiring example posted above. You can find one at the local junkyard or pull-a-part if you have one close by. You can find them on ebay. Also there are plenty of used parts dealers like YotaYard, CruiserYard, Yota Jim, Cruiserparts, etc.

I have been thinking the same thing. I just bought some auxiliary lighting and I'd like a switch that fits the blanks also. I'm thinking this one, might?
This one looks like it would work, but I don't own it. I'm also not sure how I'd wire it up when I got it, IF I got it. This was on eBay recently.

Thanks for the offer, bro. I bought that first one I posted off eBay though. $15 and it'll be at my doorstep just after Turkey Day. It will go into the blank spot in the image below I'm hoping.
