where to buy new battery terminals?

Hey fellas,

My battery terminals are BADLY corroded. I want to replace them before they disintegrate completely into dust. The parts store didn't seem to carry anything that resembles the stock positive terminal (the one with about 3 wires going into it). Do I need to buy this part from the dealer?

Thanks!

Any parts store should have battery terminals. They won't be the same or as good as O.E.M. but they'll clean up the corrosion problem.

If you buy a set and install them, coat them in some sort of anti-corrosion compound to help keep the green beards from forming.

They can be had a brush on type, or aerosol type, I prefer the aerosol type.

No, I'm talking about the positive terminal underneath the red plastic cover thing. In theory I could jam all 3 wires into the input of a standard terminal, but I'd like to keep the stock setup with the wires connecting at different points.

I have the dielectric grease ready to go as soon as I get the right terminals.

EDIT: if this is sounding strange to y'all, maybe my positive terminal is not stock. I'll try to take a pic when I get home tonight.

You should be able to get a set up with the clamp down running from side to side so you can add the extra wires from any autozone napa autoparts store its not a rare or even dealer only style/type clamp. Just go in to the auto store and explain to them that you need one for multi wires to the battery.

you can get nice battery thermals from a stereo shop. toyota oem battery thermals are garbage, in my experience they break easy and don't hold up to corrosion very well

i went to autozone and got two different sets of terminals, one set had cheesy terminals but quick disconnects like a bike wheel, the other had thick color coded terminals that bolted, i used the thicker terminals with the quick disco's to make somthing inbetween, they have a really good connection and allow you to disconect the terminals with out a wrench, i like them, they hold really tight and are super convenient, if you really want the best connection you need to go with gold terminals from a stereo shop like the PP suggested

Go for the marine grade brass version, totally corrosion resistant. Any chain parts store or walmart.
