where is the afm cog?

I have been reading some old threads about advancing the timing a few degrees on the 3vz-e and also leaning the idle mixture a few clicks. Does anybody know where the afm cog is on the 3vz-e? Also, any suggestions on such tweaking? Is it really helpful?
