When do you stop building
Since my house got broken into and I need to use all of my "spare" money for the next few months to replace/repair things I've been wondering exactly how much more I want to do to my truck. I mean for a rig on 31's it pretty much goes where I point it. It gets good mpg's and is dependable. I'd love to throw in a front locker, dual t-cases, rock sliders and a winch but don't think that I really need any of those things.
When do you know that you've reached the "end game" of the build?

Duh, when you run out of $$$$$
A lot of projects are 'never done'. People get their truck to a point where they want to go a little further on a trail, saw a truck do something they want to do...all depends on what you want to do.
Sorry to hear about the break in. Hope they bust the low lifes...

Right now, never. Granted I'm 18 but between parents forty, yes forty years my senior and the grandparents plus many more decades I'm quite mature for my age. Seriously I wouldn't get any of the money back, about 3 and a half grand back, plus 5500 for the truck itself not to mention my time so I don't foresee selling it, I'll keep until I can't buy gas anymore. Then maybe I'll throw an electric engine in it.

IMHO... you're done building when you are content with it...
the truck goes where you want it to go...
the truck does it without breaking...
the truck does it whenever you want it to...
If you're satisfied with it the way it is, you're done. Just don't confuse 'satisfied' with 'settling'. If you 'settle' with it, you won't be happy.
And remember, all those things you had planned, can still be done later when you have the need and funds.
It's only a few extra months to wait.

i dont think that there is any "end" to the game...
once you get everything done that you want to do, you will find little things to nitpick until its being modified again...
honestly, once you are content with it, you are, from what ive seen, the kind of person to mod a vehicle, and youll prolly just get another toy to work on...

"the game" ends whenever you want it to. for many of us these trucks will never be done, but if you get yours to a point that you are satisfied with it, then you are there. satisfaction is the end.

NEVER ILL NEVER STOP WASTING MONEY IN THIS NEVER ENDING PIT I CALL A TOYOTA!!!! but its worth every penny and wouldn't spend half the time effort or money on anything else.. especially a ford. ford sucks GO YOTA!!! whoo... im a lil drunk sry if u dont understand!

Sometimes there are trucks involved.
I'm the wrong person to wax eloquently/philosophize, but creating is an innate human trait, like naming. If you're religious, you might see the image of the Creator in building. Some people are driven to write music, others to making or growing good food, or plumbing particle physics.
The important thing to do, is create.
And trucks are freak'n sweet.
