wheel Spacer

Hi, i have a 1989 toyota pickup and i was wondering if putting like and 1" or 1.5" wheel spacer to make my tires stick out alittle more would be a bad idea? or just save up alittle more to buy the rims and then the tires? my rims are stock if that matters.. thanks you!!

Your stock wheels are 7" in width. You can easily get 8" rims with 4.5" offset. Those black crawler wheels from 4wheel parts comes to mind.
