Wheel compatibility?

I would like to replace the ugly aftermarket aluminum rims on my '89 2WD pick-up with simple, stock steel wheels. Finding an OEM set has proven more difficult than expected, however. Later 6-lug wheels are all over, but I can't locate any of the older 5-lug design.

Will wheels from other makes/models fit this truck? Something easier to find, like S10 or Ranger rims?

Find the part number to your stock wheels, and compare the specifications. The most important thing is the bolt pattern, but you have to make sure whatever size it is it fits in the wheel well. This is the stock rims for my 91, SR5, 4X4 as an example of the specs.

Part Number: ALY69305U10
Weight: 11.44 lbs
Notes: ALLOY WHEEL, 15 X 7, 4 DOUBLE SPOKE, SILVER; Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5; OE #4261135070
Bore Diameter (mm): 100.6
Offset (mm): 20
Package Quantity: 1
Primary Bolt Pattern: 6x5.5
Secondary Bolt Pattern: Not Featured
Wheel Diameter: 15"
Wheel Finish: Silver
Wheel Material: Alloy
Width (in): 7

Where did you find this information? I've found a few online sources for wheel specs, but nothing with this much detail.

According to Wheel-size.com, the factory wheels for my 89 pick-up have 20mm of positive offset. The Jeep wheels are close with 15mm, but the Ranger wheels (depending on year) have just 4 or 5mm.

A lot of people recommend Ranger/Explorer wheels because of the bolt pattern, but I can't find a single photo of a Toyota pick-up actually wearing the Ford rims. Are we sure they fit?

I can find these cheap and it looks like my Toyota center caps may even pop right in. But I'm not buying unless I know they're a perfect fit.
