Whats This Part???

1986 22re ????....i Cant Post Pics But This Part Bolts To The Top Of The Valve Cover Closer To The Front On The Right....it Has Two Plastic Nipples On One End For A Vacuum Line And Another Metal One On The Oposite Side ....it Also Has And Electrical Plug On The Side....i Just Need To Know The Name, I Broke The Plastic Nipples Off And The Toyota Dealership Faxed Me Pics But None With This Part...andy Help Would Be Appreciated!!!

it is probably a vacuum switching valve. or VSV as the kids would say.Mine was missing 1 and had 1 broken when I bought it...........in a box.I was also missin like 20 bolts,no biggy. my VSV's were $75 on average.good luck.

Vacuum Switching Valve??.....thanks Mabey I Can Get The Right Part Now....p.s. What Does A Vacuum Switching Valve Do?

some accessories only need a source of vacuum at intervals or only when the engine is in warm up mode or when the A/C kicks in and out.the EGR and emissions sample the exhaust mixture by turning vacuum on and off also.hope that helps your questions.
